We had such a great experience working with Crimson Canary! My partner and I were putting on a fun networking mixer and wanted to make it special. Crimson Canary showed up on time, played their hearts out and created warmth, authenticity and fun for the entire event. Totally recommend them!!

Having had well over 1000 music performances over the last nine plus years that have covered every kind of music from classical to hard rock, we at Mocha Maya were very excited to find Dave and Lonnie Chu, as they were a first rate act as well as being wonderful people to work with. Dave and Lonnie brought an electricity and energy to the room that only flamenco music can do when it is played by true professionals. They quickly had the attention of the room and inspired several groups to dance, making for a fun and lively performance.

I highly recommend Crimson Canary for events of any type. They were part of the Spring 2018 Kaleidoscope Series. Simply fabulous. They educated, brought the audience in to participate, all the while entertaining us. The perfect event to promote culture and learning as a life choice.

Gentile’s RestaurantSyracuse, NY

We were thrilled to have Crimson Canary at our first ever Live Music Event at Gentile’s Restaurant! Our guests really enjoyed their music, especially, of course, the numbers in Italian! They played to our crowd beautifully, never overpowering the space, but there to add to our atmosphere and bring in songs from various decades. Our guests enjoyed the vocals as well as the instrumentals.

I spent a lovely Saturday afternoon, as an audience member of the supremely versatile and wonderful Lonnie & David Chu. In this specific event, they were joined by percussionist, David Clement. The chemistry among the artists is immediately evident; the musicality, the energy and varied rhythms, styles and music are quite a treat. The concert lasted about 75 minutes and we all wanted more. Lonnie's vocalistics spanned an impressive range and explored many emotions from the passion of "Torna a Surriento" and the fun of "Frenesi," to "La Vie En Rose" and Irving Berlin's "Blue Skies." Flamenco rhythms and fascinating guitar and percussion capped off this most unusual program. I'm a fan! I write this simply because I was there and I had a ball! And I wanted to state it publicly.

I would absolutely recommend Lonnie and David to play anywhere! I love their music and the engaging style of their performance. The several times I have hired them I noted that both the students and the adults (and I) enjoyed Lonnie's lively and passionate singing and David's talented guitar music. We will definitely hire them again!

highly recommend David and Lonnie's program for your library. Patrons of all ages were enthralled by the quality of music. Lonnie has a magnificent singing voice and David is a very proficient guitar player. Everyone just raved about the performance. We would definitely invite them again.

Lonnie and David Chu have taken on one of the most challenging forms of music in our time, Flamenco. Flamenco arts have been a source of magic in my life for well over fifty years, and it was particularly gratifying to meet and hear these modern day practitioners of this art form. They are faithful to the traditions with Lonnie's clear soulful singing (Cante) layered over David's intricate guitar virtuosity (Toque). I highly recommend an evening of their musical offerings.

I am happy to recommend Crimson Canary. Their performance at Mohawk Valley Community College was fabulous. Not only was it musically enjoyable, but they educated us on the history of the music as well. I believe the audience found it both entertaining and informative. I know that I definitely learned things that I did not know before.
